Dining in Jerusalem is expensive. It’s harder to find a restaurant within the walls of the Old City that is reasonably priced. So I think The Quarter Cafe, might be a good option in the Jewish quarter. From here you can see the Temple Mount! And the place is more of a cafeteria, which means there is no service fee and you don’t have to order a lot! Just see what your budget affords at that moment! Free water, free usage of WC (clean). It is a good choice!
Location of The Quarter Cafe
It is like 2 minutes walk from the Western Wall.
As soon as you enter the Jewish quarter from the Western wall, you cannot miss it! It’s right in the center of the way! Go upstairs!
I think this is the only resraurant in the Jewish quarter with such a view?
What you are seeing is the corner of Western Wall and Southern wall, and Al-aqsa mosque (the building with silver dome). In the background… Mt of Olives!!
The entire wall is made by glass! What joy it is to have lunch here! In the Old City of Jerusalem! Really! It’s so unreal!
This is a kosher restaurant, the yellow paper is a kosher certificate.
Menu and Food
There’s no menu and no waiter because the place is more like a cafeteria. Just follow the queue..
Why are we starting from dessert? I have no idea!
Finally I found the menu in the top shelf above the working station. I don’t think it’s meant to be seen?? No one can read this from afar! So I typed it down…

There are 2 stations here. One side is hot dishes and there other side is salads.
The man behidn the counter will ask you what do you want? “Fish?” He would orally tell you the menu of the day. Just make your decision quickly! I chose salmon.
And then you should pick a side dish. Spaghetti or rice?
And then 2 small salads. Just point whichever looks interesting to you.
I was so nervous that I had to answer all his questions in such a short time. How come no one else needs time to process like me?
So here’s everything. This cost 80 NIS, plus the cheese case was 28NIS. The total was 110 NIS without a drink, that is roughy $30. It’s not cheap, but you can share this meal with someone and have an excellent view from here.
Pita bread on the table is complimentry. So if you don’t order cheese cake, then it is about 60NIS per person, roughly $20. That is a very cheap price in Jerusalem. Well. Jerusalem is an expensive place to be…
I enjoyed the view though!
Final Verdict
Superb view. I don’t know if there’s any other restaurant in the Old City that offers such view at such price? Though the atmosphere here is more like a cafeteria.
